On last Saturday, I had the chance of joining my fellowship from church to Brooklyn Botanic Garden for spring outing. It was a beautiful day, Vivian and I both have a great time. Here are two photos of Onesia and Serena. In the afternoon on the same location we covered an engagement session for a great couple. I will post the photos later the week.

I did the shoot on my birthday day. In this shot I really wanted to play off of the colors of the backdrop. The family were illuminated with the light streaming softly with 2 lights setting. There is an alienbee on the camera left with 24-36″ softbox and quantum t5d-r on the camera right with a 43″ shoot through umbrella. This just gave enough light the direction I needed to show the details.

I love the composition of this image, Serena, dressed in that beautiful little white shirt. The big eyes and her very soft complexion which made this image the little girl’s dad loved.

I made this image in Madison Square Park yesterday after work. The positioning of the kid on the right hand side adds to the impact of the photograph. The sun was starting to set and the backlight make the water so beautiful.

This simple image is captured in just the subtle tones of oranges. The big eyes, his very soft complexion, and a gentle expression combine for a very sensitive and warm maternity portrait.

This is actually a mid afternoon shot I put the sun behind Gordon and take the shoot. I loved the intense bright orange color of the shirt. It’s just a loud splash of energizing color in this one composition. Canon 40D with Canon 85mm, F2.5 @ 1/750 second at ISO 200.

I photographed this image during my vacation on last week. The girl in the picture is my niece Naomi. When doing the series for the portrait, I love getting in close and just framing on portions of their face, hands, ring, etc. To me, this truly captures the feelings of the person. The light, in this case was simply my on-camera flash bouncing off the wall to my left.

This was one of my favorite images from yesterday’s shoot. I positioned Serena quite a bit down the road with me. This photograph was made with the natural overcast light. We were losing light so I kicked the ISO up to 400.
