Sumaya and Frank are getting married in May 2011. Yes, there is another 11 months away and I’m incredibly excited to work with them. We spent the Saturday in Queens for their engagement photos and I had a blast with them. They’re amazing people individually, but together, they’re magical. I can’t wait to hang out with them soon.

A month ago, I got a message from facebook follow by an email from Nicole and Chris who lives in Australia. Nicole obsessed with big apple and they are planning to marry in NYC. They want me to be their wedding photographer and want me to be their legal wedding witness beside document their wedding. A month later, they flew 25hrs access the world to arrive in NYC.

Nicole and Chris made a tearful oath to love, honor, and cherish. You’re absolutely delightful by yourselves, together you’re just fabulous! I can’t express how thankful I am to have met you and I truly know our paths were supposed to cross when they did.

Why do they call it Trash The Dress?

Trash the dress, also known as fearless bridal or rock the frock, is a style of wedding photography that contrasts elegant clothing with an environment in which it is out of place. It is generally shot in the style of fashion and glamour photography. it’s a perfect way to capture some wonderful series of images of the bride and groom that normally can’t be made on the wedding day, almost as a declaration that the wedding is done and the dress will not be used again. It is seen as an alternative to storing the dress away, never to be seen again.

{Get Ready for Ceremony}

This image was made a few weeks ago while on a shoot in Long Island. The location was the Jericho Terrace. I made this image right before the bride prepare to go to ceremony. You can see the stress all over her face. It is one of the classic photographs we make at every wedding. Canon 40D with tokina 11-16mm at 12mm, F5.6 @ 1/60 second at ISO 800.
