{What does love in Hebrew look like?}

I covered a Jewish Orthodox Wedding last night. What a wonderful experience. I got home almost midnight with tired body. Here are couple snapshots from last night. More photos to come….
Congrats Eidi and Chesky! Thanks for having us out, the wedding is awesome!

Riley A. Vann - You have such a deft touch, capturing the perfect moment that encapsulates so much. Both of these photographs are great examples of your talent. I especially love the camera over the bride's head. Wonderful work!March 4, 2010 - 9:32 am

{Boston Walkabout}

Vivian and I decide to take a break so we went to Boston to celebrate Valentine’s day and Chinese New Year. We got a big cup of coffee and just wondered about “Theater District” and “Quincy Market” for a while. Walkabout gives us the freedom to take a break along the way and enjoy all the rewards of exploring on your own.
Being one of the oldest cities in America there are some old buildings as well as the new.

Riley A. Vann - LOL I've never seen anyone so committed to his tilt-shift lens. Great images of Boston without taking any of the clichéd shots you usually see of the city.February 18, 2010 - 4:32 pm

{Snow Day in NYC}

Here is an image I took in this morning after i came back from a walk. The original just didn’t pop for me. I did quite a bit of tweaking in  Silverflex pro to get it to a point where I thought the image presented itself.  Finally it came together for a nice B&W image.

{I just Love how they look 2}

With the crazy cold weather today (20° F),  I thought I would kick off the week with a lot of bright colors.  I balanced the exposure specifically to just reveal enough of the setting sun’s color to add a sense of the dramatic.

I’m greatly impressed with its versatility and quality of built and design with the canon TS-E 45mm.  But the locking and tilt/shift control knobs are a little bit too small for comfort but they operate perfectly well. There is some light fall off at the edges fully shifted with the aperture wide open but from f8 this is not a problem. It’s a rewarding lens to use, very versatile, but you really must shoot a lot with it to get the hand of the T/S concepts and be able to effectively use them to capture what you’ve envisioned.

{I just Love how they look}

I just love the Canon TS-E45mm lens. It is a very sharp lens, wide-open is ok but at f4.0 it gets even sharper. Color is accurate and the bokeh is just breathtaking. I have to take the meeting reading at no shift and tilt first or it will lose light with increasing shift and the camera won’t meter accurately. I think it’s an excellent lense, and recommend it to the right audience. You just have to learn how to use it properly to get the best results.
